The leaves are awesome but so are the rest, so many talented people in the world, this is inspiring.

I have never seen words

come to life on the page

the way they did that day

of my youth when I first read the pages

of some fantasy novel

now I will not mention the title

because it could have been any great novel

any words of power

the skill was still so fresh

the newly acquired attribute

the ability to read

to believe what I read

to become so enveloped by a story or a work that I carried it with me in my mind and in my eyes

I saw the characters on the streets

The first time I felt a chill

and the hair on my arms stood on end

Nerves reacting sparks becoming embers

words fanned to flames

then I started emulating my dead heroes (or at least most of them were dead) I started writing down everything

I couldn't sleep at night my head was so

haunted by words

sentences

paragraphs (I just longed for the ability to write the way they did)

prose

poetry verse

meter

alliteration

assonance

the romance

the horror

the magic

words

have

power
